We are seeking a detail-oriented Contract Opportunity Analyst to review publicly posted U.S. government and commercial contract solicitations and determine whether they represent viable opportunities for our business to pursue. This is a remote research role that requires strong reading comprehension, analytical judgment, and the ability to learn the fundamentals of American contracting.
You will be the first filter in our business development pipeline — your assessments directly shape which opportunities we invest time and resources into.
Daily Contract Review
-Log in to assigned contract portals (SAM.gov) and search for newly posted solicitations relevant to our services.
-Read the full solicitation package including the Statement of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statement (PWS), or Statement of Objectives (SOO).
-Identify key details: contract type, estimated value, period of performance, place of performance, submission deadline, and set-aside status.
Opportunity Scoring & Qualification
-Compare solicitation requirements against our company’s capabilities, past performance, and certifications.
-Flag requirements that may be difficult to meet (bonding, security clearance, specific licenses, incumbency advantage, geographic restrictions).
-Rate each opportunity using our internal Go/No-Go scoring rubric and provide a brief written summary with your recommendation.
-Document Management & Reporting
-Enter opportunity data into our tracking spreadsheet or CRM system with all relevant fields completed accurately.
-Attach or link to key documents (solicitation, attachments, amendments).
-Send a daily or weekly digest of reviewed opportunities to the business development team.
-Monitor active solicitations for amendments or Q&A postings and flag any changes that affect our pursuit decision.
Research Support
-Look up agency spending history and past contract awards on USASpending.gov.
-Research the incumbent contractor when one is listed and note their size, performance history, and likely advantage.
-Identify the Contracting Officer or Contracting Officer’s Representative (CO/COR) contact information for outreach.
